Batteries are the most vulnerable, sensitive & susceptible piece of your critical power system. The right battery will make the difference between reaching useful service life projections & replacing your strings prematurely. The uninterruptible power system requires a battery designed specifically for high rate discharges over shorter time periods. SBS not only manufactures the approriate battery design for your system, but also will execute professional installation & preventative maintenance in accordance with IEEE Std 450/1187 recommendations. SBS offers UPS replacement batteries for Powerware, MGE, Liebert, APC & any other brand. SBS batteries are directly interchangeable with C&D, Enersys, East Penn, Deka, MK, CSB, GNB, Exide & Power Battery products.
The high rate discharge is the most challenging application for any battery whether VRLA or flooded. The battery must have an intrinsic design capable of tolerating the physical & electrical forces developed for this discharge profile found in higher power level for autonomies in minutes. The classic example is that of the uninterruptible power system. The battery requires sufficiently sized and designed plates, hangers, posts & post seals to handle the effects of high current movement. SBS leverages its experience to produce a design that delivers more watts per cell than the competition while offering a full service design life.

Battery Cabinets, Enclosures, Containment & Racks
SBS offers seismic and standard battery racks for VRLA, flooded & Ni-Cad battery systems. We also offer spill containment systems consisting of interlocking HDPE pans and acid absorbing/neutralizing pillows as well as the traditional barrier/berm & liner/berm confihgurations. Battery cabinets for VRLA jars are available in configuration to "line-up & match" your existing UPS fit & finish or in more economical non-matching designs. Most cabinets are also availed in surplus or pre-owned styles offered at substantial savings. Battery disconnects are also available.
